Kennsla hefst 5. janúar (English below)

Kennsla í Tækniskólanum hefst samkvæmt stundatöflu miðvikudaginn 5. janúar en stundatöflur munu birtast í Innu þriðjudaginn 4. janúar. Kennt verður í staðnámi að mestu en vera kann að einhverjir áfangar verði fluttir tímabundið, að hluta eða öllu leyti, yfir á teams til að létta aðeins á í húsum skólans meðan við göngum í gegnum núverandi COVID bylgju. Ef um slíkt er að ræða mun viðkomandi kennari láta nemendur sína sérstaklega vita í Innu og tölvupósti. Annars mæta nemendur samkvæmt stundatöflu í þá stofu sem gefin er upp. Það ber að taka fram að lendi nemandi í því að vera í teams tíma á milli staðbundinna tíma getur hann alltaf farið í kennslustofuna sem tíminn átti að vera í og fylgst með þaðan eða farið á bókasafn og fengið þar aðgang að tölvu ef þarf.

Það er afar brýnt að við förum eins varlega og kostur er nú í upphafi nýrrar annar. Grímuskylda gildir áfram og ekki er heimilt að taka grímuna niður nema þegar matast er. Þá er afar mikilvægt að mæta ekki í skólann sé maður með einkenni sem benda til COVID heldur drífa sig í tékk. Þess skal getið að við ákvörðun um að opna skólann 5. janúar horfum við til þess mats stjórnvalda að það sé þýðingarmikið að framhaldsskólar starfi með eins eðlilegum hætti og kostur er. Við skulum þó öll vera viðbúin því að þurfa að stunda nám að einhverju leyti á teams á komandi önn og því vil ég hvetja alla þá sem ekki hafa notað teams áður til að fara inn á leiðbeiningarsíðu tölvuþjónustunnar og gera sig klára. Hægt er að setja teams upp bæði á síma og tölvu.

Að lokum bendum við á COVID síðu skólans en upplýsingar þar verða yfirfarnar og uppfærðar áður en skóli hefst til samræmis við gildandi reglugerð.

Classes begins on January 5th

Teaching in Tækniskólinn will begin onsite according to timetable on Wednesday 5th of January. Students and guardians will be able to view timetables in Inna on Tuesday January 4th. Most of the teaching will be on-site (staðnám), but some courses may be temporarily (partially or fully) transferred online (teams) to reduce the number of students in the most occupied school buildings as we move through the current COVID wave. If this is the case the teacher in question will notify their students about that through Inna/e-mail. Otherwise, students are to attend class according to timetable in the given classroom. It should be noted that if a student happens to have classes both on site and online the same day, he can always go to the classroom where the class was supposed to be and study from there or go to the library and get access to a computer there if needed.

It is very important that we are as careful as possible in relation to COVID.  Obligatory mask wearing will continue and the masks are not to be taken off unless when eating/drinking. It is also very important not to attend school if you have any symptoms that could indicate COVID, but instead get a check as soon as possible. See further information on www.covid.is. It should be noted that the decision to start classes onsite on January 5th is in part based on the government’s assessment that it is important for upper secondary schools (framhaldsskóli) to operate as normally as possible. However, we should all be prepared to have to study to some extent online on teams  in the coming school term, and therefore we encourage all those who have not used teams before to go to this website and get ready. Teams can be set up both on your phone and computer.
